Maverick Hybrid: the first hybrid pick-up in Brazil
Ford showed the public for the first time the Maverick Hybrid, the first hybrid pick-up in Brazil, which hits the market in the first quarter of 2023. The presentation was made at the inauguration of the Ford Academy, a new multifunctional space opened in São Paulo that will be used as a center for disseminating new technologies, services, training, consumer experience and the brand's relationship with partners.
“The Maverick Hybrid is part of our decarbonization agenda in Brazil, which will also have other great innovations in 2023”, says Rogelio Golfarb, vice president of Ford South America. "Electrification is one of the cornerstones of Ford's business model in the region and globally."
Maverick stands out in the segment for combining the robustness and versatility of pick-ups with the comfort of an SUV. The new hybrid version maintains these qualities, bringing superior energy efficiency. Its powertrain combines a 2.5 Atkinson gasoline engine and an electric motor and regenerative braking system.
“The Maverick Hybrid is very efficient and has a range of over 800 km. In addition, it has instant torque, low carbon emissions and a comfortable and quiet ride”, adds Rogelio Golfarb.
Robustness and quality...Like all Ford pick-ups, the Maverick Hybrid was developed to meet the rigorous standards of quality, robustness and durability of the Raça Forte family. In order to earn this seal, it was exhaustively tested in extreme weather conditions, on-road and off-road, and with maximum load capacity.
“The Maverick Hybrid is a true Forte Breed pick-up, with the attributes of performance and endurance that everyone knows. So much so that it is already a great success in the United States”, says Antonio Baltar Jr., director of Marketing, Sales and Services at Ford. “It is a versatile vehicle made to meet the customer's daily needs with comfort, practicality and a unique driving experience”.
With these advantages, the Maverick Hybrid becomes an alternative even for diesel pick-ups, serving consumers with a more urban profile. It will come with FordPass application connectivity functions, which include vehicle operating alerts and alarm activation, location, remote access to fuel level, odometer, locking and unlocking and remote start with air conditioning activation.
