SEMA SHOW 2022
Nissan has just shown the prototypes it will exhibit at the Nevada expo
Today begins the SEMA Show 2022 in Las Vegas, an event dedicated to all types of preparations and aftermarket accessories, in addition to being the occasion when many manufacturers take the opportunity to present the most flashy and curious prototypes.
Nissan is one of the brands that will be present, and has just shown the prototypes it will exhibit at the Nevada expo. Of course, there is no shortage of creations based on the sporty Nissan Z and the electric Nissan Ariya.
A Nissan Z loaded with NISMO accessories...The only road-ready model of all that will be shown by Nissan in Las Vegas is a Nissan Z packed with NISMO accessories: black/white/red livery, carbon fiber bezels, Mobil 1 graphics and, above all, a preparation for the 3.0-liter V6 biturbo engine, which includes a cold air intake system, a more generous radiator and a stainless steel exhaust system. For now, the brand has not provided the power figures.
The Japanese coupe also includes 19-inch NISMO LM-RS1 wheels, NISMO brakes, Bridgestone RE71RS tires, and a NISMO suspension with coilover dampers that appear to lower body height, as well as anti-roll bars, although there are also certain components that are not available. for sale.
The second of the Nissan Z's for SEMA is a Formula Drift car created for driver Chris Forsberg, whose main feature is that it equips the powerful engine of the Nissan GT-R, but powered up to no less than 1,300 hp. As if that wasn't enough, there will also be a racing Z GT4, which will likely participate in the 2023 IMSA VP Racing Series.
Ariya Surfwagon and Sunny Pick-up...Manufactured by Tommy Pike Customs, this Ariya Surfwagon is one of the most curious and, as we can see, it is based on the house's electric SUV. It includes a vinyl decor that replicates the classic station wagon with wooden sides, but with huge 20-inch wheels to match the surfboard on the roof, installed on a specially designed rack.
Perhaps the most evocative prototype of all is a classic 1987 Nissan Sunny pick-up converted into an electric car, in the purest retrofit style, as it hides the propulsion system of a Nissan LEAF. It is also the work of Tommy Pike Customs and belongs to Tommy Pike himself.
Underneath its body it hides a 40 kWh battery and a single electric motor, with 150 hp of power and 320 Nm of maximum torque, which means doubling the power of the original Sunny and tripling the torque figure. The set is completed with 17-inch Rotiform plugged-in wheels and the 240SX's front suspension, with improved rear leaf springs.
Frontier V8...Finally, Nissan will also showcase the so-called NISMO Off-Road Frontier V8 Concept, a wild Baja-style pickup with a 5.6-liter V8 engine (inherited from the Nissan Titan), with cold air intake and a NISMO exhaust system, although its power has not been announced.
Lastly, Christina Roki's Frontier Street Truck has bespoke suspension, huge 20-inch Black Rhino wheels, a Performance Lab Detroit body kit, darkened headlights and a Magnaflow exhaust system.
