New line of Ford Tourneo vans has five versions for the European market
Ford Pro has unveiled its new lineup of Ford Tourneo vans in Europe, which includes an all-electric E-Tourneo, a plug-in hybrid and several turbodiesel options. In principle, they will be available in mid-2023, with up to eight seats for the electric version and nine for the rest of the versions.
The most interesting novelty in the catalog of the new Ford van is the so-called zero-emissions E-Tourneo, that is, a 100% electric version that offers a power of 160 kW or 218 hp and promises a homologated autonomy of up to 370 kilometers in the cycle WLTP.
This autonomy figure is achieved thanks to a battery pack with a generous capacity, 74 kWh, which also allows charging to a maximum of 11 kW with alternating current and up to 125 kW in fast charging, with direct current.
According to Ford, in the best case the battery can be charged from 15 to 80% in 41 minutes, or recover 38 kilometers of autonomy in 5 minutes. In addition, the brand has announced a towing capacity of up to 2,000 kilos for this E-Tourneo.
This electric version also offers some advantages over conventional versions, such as the so-called Pro Power Onboard, which offers a 2.3 kW power point to connect any type of equipment or tool.
The second of the electrified versions of the Tourneo is a plug-in hybrid, whose propulsion system is based on a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine and Atkinson cycle, associated with an electric propeller and an 11.8 kWh battery. Although a power figure has not been announced, we know that it will be able to run more than 50 kilometers in electric mode.
The conventional catalog, for its part, includes diesel versions of 136, 150 and 170 hp, along with a 6-speed manual transmission, although they are optionally available with an 8-speed automatic transmission and also with four-wheel drive. Depending on the power, the Tourneo Custom diesel can tow up to 2,500 kilos.
Ford will also offer standard or long chassis versions, as well as Sport, Titanium X and Active finishes, the latter with an adventurous style, which proposes a slightly different aesthetic, with plastic protections on the underbody, for example.
