DAVINCI MOTOR

DC100: the electrified motorcycle ready to conquer Europe?

Davinci Motor has announced its first electric motorcycle for the European market after already making a name for itself in its native China.

Davinci launched the DC100 in China in 2021 and nearly two years later is ready to bring it to Europe.

It's an electric motorcycle with an appearance that can certainly be described as intriguing.

Objectively speaking, it's an interesting design that will stand out even among its future rivals on the old Continent.

Underneath the exterior, the technology behind the DC100 was developed by Davinci in collaboration with Tsinghua University in Beijing.

The DC100 therefore includes some interesting electronic solutions, such as the Hill Climb Assist, which can help the driver maintain control at low speeds (5 km/h uphill, 7 km/h downhill) and the Walking Assistant. back.

Also, the DC100 has no instrument panel, at least not classic. Instead, the driver can download the Davinci app, which turns the phone into an interactive unit.

In terms of performance, the DC100 has a maximum torque of 850 Nm, a maximum power of 100 kW (135 hp) and a range of 357 km. This is partially achieved thanks to the regenerative braking system, which Davinci calls a “kinetic energy recovery system”, i.e. “KERS” – as it is called in F1. Davinci plans to introduce self-balancing, remote control and autonomous driving technology to this model in the future. In addition, it plans to introduce an open source application programming interface.

When it arrives in Europe, the Davinci DC100 is expected to cost €26,000, with deliveries expected between the second and third quarters of next year.

The DC100 doesn't have ABS but uses CBS, while traction control is informed by 200 sensors, and the bike's firmware can be updated remotely.
