NOVO VOLVO FH EURO 6 CONCILIA REDUÇÃO DE EMISSÕES E ALTO DESEMPENHO COM MAIS ECONOMIA

Swedish automotive giant presents its new range of FH, FM and FMX trucks

In constant evolution, Volvo presents its new range of FH, FM and FMX trucks with advances that differentiate them even more in innovation. The 2023 models arrive with more performance, greater economy and a significant reduction in the emission of polluting gases, in line with the new Euro 6/Proconve P8 regulation. With the innovations, fuel consumption can be up to 8% lower compared to the current generation, a great contribution to increasing the profitability of the transporter.

“Our new range of Euro 6 trucks goes far beyond what the change in legislation requires. We feature improvements in technology and safety and a reduction in environmental impact. This reinforces our commitment to productivity and sustainability in transport”, assures Wilson Lirmann, president of the Volvo Latin America Group. “It is an exceptional line of trucks, full of novelties and with excellent energy efficiency for all Brazilian transport applications”, completes Alcides Cavalcanti, executive director of trucks at Volvo in Brazil.

New engine...Offered in powers of 380, 420, 460, 500 and 540 hp, the new Volvo D13K Euro 6 engine is one of the protagonists of the new line and brings important innovations. “Completely new, it is an evolution of the renowned D13 that equips the F line. The D13K was designed with a more evolved specification and a more efficient gas after-treatment system”, says Jeseniel Valerio, Volvo's sales engineering manager for the Brazil. With more robust components, it has a new Common Rail system, equipped with high pressure and precision fuel injectors, in addition to the exclusive 'Wave' combustion technology, which guarantees a faster and more efficient burning of diesel with air and greater efficiency. energy, all with a focus on fuel economy and lower emissions.

New turbo...Another evolution is the new, more efficient turbo compressor, which allows you to generate maximum torque at even lower rotations and is quieter. With the innovations now introduced, it is exactly the same engine that equips the brand's trucks in Europe and in the main global markets, aligning Brazil with the best in the world. “The new engine is state-of-the-art technology to help transporters achieve better results, increase productivity and reduce operating costs,” says Valerio. “The project also prioritized the Brazilian market, to meet the demanding local conditions of severity”, he adds.

A significant improvement took place in the areas of safety, performance and maintenance. Now the VEB (Volvo Engine Brake Plus), Volvo's renowned and powerful engine brake, comes as standard for all engines and models of the F line. This is yet another contribution by Volvo to increase safety in transport operations.

The new Euro 6 trucks retain all the benefits of the previous generation, including the aerodynamic improvements recently introduced in the so-called Aero Package.

7th generation I-Shift...The new Volvo Euro 6 trucks are equipped with a new I-Shift gearbox. Now in its 7th generation, the brand's renowned transmission has received many improvements that have resulted in up to 30% faster gear changes compared to the previous version. “Volvo engineering has developed an even better, more robust, much more efficient transmission, ensuring more benefits in the transport operation, whether in vehicle performance or in reducing fuel consumption”, declares Jeseniel Valerio.

Proven technologies...Even with so much evolution, Volvo has maintained or optimized some of the technical characteristics that are already widely recognized among hauliers and drivers. This is the case with Volvo Intelligent Acceleration, the brand's pioneering technology that lowered fuel consumption through algorithms developed by engineering that identify the real need for torque and power according to topography and load, controlling fuel injection ultra accurate. Another pioneering device maintained is the pre-mapped I-See, one of the most modern technologies ever developed by the brand, making the vehicle even more intelligent and connected. From the start of the journey, pre-mapped I-See receives road information via connectivity and manages topography data to more efficiently manage rocking, accelerating, shifting and engine braking to save fuel. .

Standard safety is highlighted in Volvo FH Euro 6, with more items to avoid accidents...World leader in vehicle safety in commercial transport and always at the forefront in this area, Volvo launches the new line of Volvo FH Euro 6 trucks, maintaining its traditional reputation for being the safest. The offer of standard items is the most consistent on the market, going far beyond the requirements of legislation, for the benefit of all road users.

“We are expanding safety even further, with the series offering of the main technologies that help to avoid accidents. It is another step towards 'Zero Accidents', our ideal for the future with the vehicles of our brand", declares Alcides Cavalcanti, executive director of trucks at Volvo.

All Volvo FH Euro 6 on-road models come standard with the best and most advanced to protect truck occupants and road users:

EBS electronic brakes - ensure a faster reaction of the brakes and distribute the braking force between the axles and the truck assembly as a whole. They also allow for less and more uniform wear of linings or pads.

Adaptive Cruise Control - now standard for the on-road FH, an in-cab radar automatically monitors the road, adapting the truck's distance to that of the vehicle ahead. It reduces the speed until it stops and returns the movement as soon as the driver makes the command. Called Stop & Go, this is a function unique to Volvo trucks' autopilot.

Emergency Braking - Visual and audible alert that warns the driver of the possibility of a collision, being able to activate the emergency brake to try to avoid accidents.

ESP - Electronic Stability Program - technology that reduces the risk of tipping over in tight curves and slippery floors, acting individually on the brakes to reduce speed and straighten the composition.

Descent autopilot - technology that maintains programmed and controlled speed even on steep slopes.

VEB - Volvo's renowned high-performance engine brake system, which helps control speed on descents without the need to activate the service or retarder brakes, saving fuel, brake linings or pads. The ' ' version, with high braking power, is now standard on all F-line engines.

Air Bag - bag that automatically inflates on the steering wheel in collisions, minimizing injuries to the driver. It works in conjunction with the seat belt pretensioner. Standard on most Volvo FH trim packages.

Emergency brake lights - flash intermittently on hard braking, alerting those behind.

Auxiliary mirrors - positioned on the side and front, help to reduce blind spots in manoeuvres.

Traction Control - Increases controllability on low grip surfaces such as in rain, mud or other slippery terrain.

Automatic Differential Lock - Automatically engages on rough terrain, or slippery floors. It improves the vehicle's traction capacity and reduces the risk of accidents.

Hill Start Aid - keeps the train brakes engaged until the truck advances on hill starts.

Parking Brake with automatic activation/deactivation - helps prevent driver forgetfulness during prolonged stops.

Survival Cell Cabs - Designed for maximum occupant protection, Volvo cabs far exceed the requirements of European safety standards.

Anti-intrusion front bumper - device that prevents cars from being trapped under the truck in frontal collisions, facilitating rescue operations.

Sunroof with emergency exit - makes it possible to evacuate the cabin in case of tipping over with obstruction of the doors.

ABS brakes - pioneered in trucks in Brazil by Volvo, back in the 90s. They prevent the wheels from locking, increasing braking efficiency.

Seat belt pretensioner - reduces injuries to the driver in possible collisions.

VDS Smart Steering - technology that autonomously corrects steering to reduce inadvertent lane departures from the lane (optional).

Attention detector - emits audible and visual signals when the system understands that the driver is tired (optional).

Lane monitoring - system that beeps when the truck crosses the lane without signaling (optional).

Blind spot sensor - radar on the right side of the truck that warns of vehicles that may not be visible in the mirror (optional).

Blind Spot Camera - Located below the right rear view mirror, it has a wide viewing angle. Allows viewing of the entire side of the vehicle on the secondary display of the dashboard, covering areas that are difficult to see through traditional mirrors (optional).

Anti-knife brake - exclusive Volvo system, promotes micro braking on the trailer to reduce the occurrence of the 'L' effect between the truck and the implement (optional).
