OPEL
Company will collect 200,000 models to repair defects
Opel announced later this week that it has decided to recall around 200,000 Insignias built in recent years. This decision was taken after the German manufacturer recently identified a serious problem with the brakes.
Notifying nearly 200,000 people worldwide that they have a car that may have a brake problem is no easy task, but Opel has found itself in a position to do just that. There are about 194,000 Insignia models that the German manufacturer's experts fear may have certain problems with the brakes.
Bearing in mind that this is a defect that can endanger the lives of drivers behind the wheel of these models, Opel officials did not think twice and announced a large-scale recall. Fortunately, so far no incidents have been reported as being caused by this, but the Germans want to make sure everything is in order.
Problems with hydraulic brake compensators...According to information published in the specialized press in Germany, a number of 194,000 mid-range Insignia models may have problems with the brakes. Specifically, it's a problem with the hydraulic brake tabs.
Thus, in some situations, the braking distance may increase if they are not activated. Obviously, this is a flaw that cannot be overlooked. The problem can be quickly resolved by an update to the ABS control unit software, but this can only be done by visiting the car at a specialist Audi workshop. As we said in previous lines, 194,000 Insignia models, built between 2018 and 2020, are affected.
