MOTO GP
Spectacular start for Pecco Bagnaia from ninth position on the grid in the most important race of his life. The Italian was second in the first corner behind Jorge Martín, who had maintained his privileged position on pole. The Italian put everything in his face because with Bastianini third, he was surrounded by Ducati. In the fourth position, Márquez had been placed and fifth, a Fabio Quartararo who had also made a jump from the 12th position. While Aleix Espargaró was not able to gain positions and in fact, in these first laps he lost them.
Martín wanted to show that he was going to do his race and at a fast lap pace, he was taking a few meters ahead. While Bastianini from behind did not attack Pecco at the moment. The three already opened a gap of more than a second with respect to the main group led by Márquez, with the Yamahas of Quartararo and Morbidelli and the Suzukis of Mir and Rins behind. Aleix Espargaró was 15th.
While Morbidelli and Álex Márquez were serving their pending Long Lap penalties, Quartararo passed Márquez and moved into fourth position. He was still not worth the position and that if Bagnaia won the race he would be champion. The Frenchman needed to be on the podium. Halfway through the race, the race seemed stabilized with the sweet leadership of Bagnaia. However, few of us expected Bastianini to overtake his compatriot with 10 laps to go. And he gave a new script twist to the race.
Bastianini did not escape and Bagnaia stayed on the wheel. From behind, Bezzecchi was already at the wheel of Quartararo. And between the two groups there were a couple of seconds. The race was as entertaining as the mess that was in the pit lane in the Ducati garages, that they did not believe what they were seeing.
Jorge Martín was pushing hard at this point in the race, so much so that he ended up crashing on lap 6. In a crash that owed Bagnaia the lead and Quartararo moved up to third position. The Frenchman was worth the podium to reach Valencia alive, but behind him, another Ducati, that of Marco Bezzecchi, came back ahead of the Suzuki and Márquez and placed fourth, with the Frenchman as his goal.

With 7 laps to go, Bagnaia overtook Bastianini again and was in the lead. Again, he depended on Bezzecchi's overtaking to be champion. Although Quartararo resisted, and in fact, cut differences with the Ducati duo, until bordering on 1.5 with five laps to go.
Quartararo's growth spurt, although it didn't allow him to reach the Ducati pair, did allow him to at least distance himself from Bezzecchi, who managed to open a margin of one second. Behind, Aleix Espargaró rose to tenth position, among other things benefiting from the fall of Joan Mir. The Aprilia rider was playing for third position with Bastianini.
The truth is that Quartararo was miraculously saving a title that should have already been resolved in favor of Bagnaia, who faced the last lap with Bastianini being an extension of the tail of his Ducati. Although he did not try to overtake, La Bestía did get too close to his compatriot on occasion, even going wide at turn 9. Finally, logic prevailed and Pecco Bagnaia prevailed, in what is his seventh victory of the year.
Fabio Quartararo's third position keeps the flame of the title alive, which will be decided over two weekends in Valencia, in an unequal fight. There are 23 points that separate them in the standings and Bagnaia would even be worth finishing 14th; while the French only need to win.
Marco Bezzecchi has finally finished in fourth position, with Álex Rins fifth as the best Spaniard. While Marc Márquez fulfilled his predictions and finished in seventh place.
Aleix Espargaró's dream of being champion vanished with a tenth place finish in Malaysia, which put an end to a gray Asian tour for the Spaniard. In reality, he crossed the finish line in 11th position, however, a final penalty on Morbidelli for a more than aggressive overtaking on Aleix, gave him back the position. The man from Aprilia will now fight for third place in the World Championship with Enea Bastianini, whom he leads by 1 point.
