NOVO MASERATI GRANTURISMO APRESENTADO COM DUAS VERSÕES ELEGANTES E ESPORTIVAS

Trident brand fully revealed the second generation of its two-door sports car

The new Maserati GranTurismo has just been introduced. The Trident brand completely revealed the little camouflage that wore the pre-production prototypes of this second generation of the two-door sports car. A model developed completely from scratch, which will hit the market in early 2023 with interesting new features.

The designers have preserved the elegant proportions of the Italian, with muscular wheel arches, a long hood and a backward cabin, characteristic of classic sports cars and with measures that will allow ample space inside the new GranTurismo. It measures 4.96 meters in length and has a wheelbase of 2.93 meters, adding 80 millimeters more in the first dimension and 10 millimeters less between axles compared to its predecessor.

Its new platform has also significantly reduced weight, thanks to the combination of lightweight materials such as aluminum, magnesium and high-strength steels in the structure, which means a weight on the scale of 1,795 kg, compared to the 1,880 kg of the previous model. The new GranTurismo also features all-wheel drive and a more even weight distribution, with 52% on the front axle and 48% on the rear. A configuration that allowed the engineering department to place the engine in a lower position reducing the center of gravity, while leaving room for the front differential.

The front features the large grille occupying the entire bumper, with large air intakes in the case of the sportier version of the GranTurismo Trofeo and with exposed carbon fiber decorative details, along with more vertical headlights that inherit the modern style of the MC20 A headlight design that serves to highlight the lines of the enlarged wheel arches. Maserati's characteristic three gills stand out on the front fenders, while at the rear it has elegant taillights and four exhausts grouped in two pairs at each rear end.

In the case of the more radical GranTurismo Trofeo, these are separated by a prominent diffuser with very marked aerodynamic pipes that account for higher performances. Maserati has not yet shown the luxurious interior, although we know that it will have a digital instrument panel that will change according to the selected driving mode - choosing between 'Comfort', 'GT', 'Sport' and 'Corsa' - and a state-of-the-art multimedia system, the 'MIA'. From which all comfort, connectivity and chassis adjustment systems will be controlled. The trunk has a capacity of 310 liters.

The company, which is scheduled for commercialization by mid-2023, will offer two versions: GranTurismo Modena and GranTurismo Trofeo. Both will feature the powerful 'Nettuno' gasoline engine, a 3.0-litre V6 biturbo engine with maximum powers of 490 and 550 hp, offering authentic heart attack performance: from 0 to 100 km/h and 3.9 seconds in Modena - 3.5 seconds in Trofeo - and a top speed of 302 and 320 km/h respectively. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic in both versions.
