PARAMOUNT MAATLA 4X4: UM BLINDADO ‘LEVE’ QUE PODE FAZER QUALQUER COISA

Maatla 4x4: the brand's new light armored vehicle with STANAG 4569 ballistic protection

If we mention the name of Paramount Land Systems it probably doesn't mean anything to a lot of people, but if we point out that it's the company behind the massive Paramount Marauder, that changes. Well, now the company has presented the smallest brother of the family, the Maatla 4x4.

It is a light armored vehicle based on the chassis of a commercial vehicle. This is then reinforced to achieve a level 1 ballistic protection STANAG 4569, which withstands fire from small arms, and also withstands blasts from hand grenades and similar devices.

The company has not confirmed its technical specifications in full, but it is known that it reaches a top speed of 100 km/h and that, at cruising speeds of 80 km/h, it can travel 600 kilometers with a tank.

The interior stands out for its versatility and the ease of adopting different configurations, being able to assemble and disassemble seats for up to 9 people and thus be able to serve different purposes: patrolling, peace missions, ambulance, etc.

Deon Grobler, Executive Director of Paramount Land Systems, explains: “Personnel safety and the survivability of soldiers in the field are key priorities of the Paramount Group's design and manufacturing philosophy.”

And he says: “The Maatla is an all-rounder that offers excellent performance and reliability in the field it crosses. Designed to handle a 2-ton payload, the Maatla offers nearly infinite configurability in terms of scalability of mission-specific armor, weapons and equipment on board.”

For his part, Eric Ichikowitz, Senior VP of Paramount International, adds: “Our customers can now take full advantage of three decades of armored vehicle innovation, engineering excellence and market leadership, but in a lighter-class vehicle designed to respond to changes in customer requirements.
