Brand presents new version electrified truck Fuso eCanter

The original Fuso eCanter was launched in 2017 and since then around 450 units have been delivered to customers in Japan, Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand, covering over six million kilometers in total.

There will be around 28 options for the Japanese market and around 80 options for foreign markets, a sign that eCanter is ready for prime time. At least according to the MFTBC presentation, the new version will be produced on a large scale.

Sales will begin in Japan in spring 2023 and the eCanter will be available at all Fuso locations in the country. The new electric trucks will also be offered in Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

In addition to the current model with a payload capacity of 7.5 tons (gross weight), weight categories from 4.25 to 8.55 tons will be presented. A new wide cab (2130 mm) will join the standard cab width (1700 mm) and the wheelbase range has been extended from 2500 mm to 4750 mm.

In addition, the next generation eCanter is equipped with the eAxle, which combines an electric motor (110 or 129 kW) with the rear axle.

Depending on the battery and version, the eCanter's range is rated at 80km, 140km and 200km respectively, according to the company's internal testing in JE05 mode.

In Japan, the car will be used with the CHAdeMO fast charging standard, while in other markets, mainly in Europe, we can be sure that the CCS Combo 2 will be used.
