Kia Stinger is a well-known front-engine, rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive liftback of the South Korean brand. Of course, it didn't sell in huge numbers, but it did help Kia reach a whole new level.
Sadly, its relevance has waned lately, as the all-electric EV6 now plays the role of Kia's high-performance car.
Company officials have repeatedly said the Kia Stinger will not have a direct successor as the factory in Sohari, where the Kia Stinger is assembled, switches to producing hybrid and electric vehicles. But that doesn't stop fans of the model from imagining what its receiver would look like, equipped with an all-electric motor.
Based on the published rendering, the front end shows sharp graphics that combine precise lighting elements with suggestive air intakes and a smooth finish. Above is a handsome hood with two vents, while frameless windows are a nod to the EV6 and its floating roof aesthetic.
The Hyundai Group's dedicated E-GMP electric platform is at the heart of a number of electric vehicles, including the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Genesis GV60. If the automaker decided to introduce a completely new generation of the Stinger and it was electrified, it would be built on the Hyundai-Kia E-GMP electric platform. For the uninitiated, the same architecture underlies the EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 6 and Genesis GV60. Using this architecture will increase cabin space.
While the current V6 Stinger biturbo boasted 368 hp, the switch to E-GMP opens up access to a powerful 577 hp EV6 GT twin-engine electric motor. (740 Nm). Acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h in this car is 3.5 seconds.
