SuperVan 4: German design and almost 2,000 horsepower

After three iterations, Ford's SuperVan lost its SUS engine and in the latest edition has become an all-electric vehicle with up to four engines and a total of almost 200 HP, thanks to which it accelerates to 100 km/h in less than 2 seconds.

The vehicle is the work of the Ford Performance department, which has collaborated with racing experts from the company STARD. The Ford Cologne team was responsible for the design.

Four electric generators are powered by a liquid-cooled battery with a capacity of 50kWh. The battery is smaller than the 68 kWh battery in the Ford E-Transit Custom on which the SuperVan is based. The installation of an electric drive allowed for optimal weight distribution and lowering the center of gravity. With the help of a quick charger, the battery can be charged in just 45 minutes.

Underneath the spectacular bodywork is a reworked suspension with double wishbones front and rear and brakes borrowed from racing cars. The cabin is also equipped with Ford's SYNC 4 multimedia system with a large screen. There are five driving modes – road, track, drag, drift and rally. The engineers had fun installing a “tire cleaning” option, which involves burning the tires when the brakes on one axle are applied while the wheels on the other are turning.

The SuperVan 4 is significantly more aggressively styled bodywork than the donor vehicle, as it received an extensive aero package with a fitted front splitter, muscular side skirts and a large rear diffuser. A wing is also installed on the roof at the rear, which is also decorated with groups of colored lights.
