Brand offers Transit Custom line with diesel, plug-in and electric engines

Ford offers the new Transit Custom with diesel, plug-in and electric engines. In particular, the electric E-Transit Custom in its base version produces 135 horsepower and 217 at the top, with torque on both being 415 Nm.

The 74 kWh battery offers a range of up to 380 kilometers per charge in the WLTP measurement cycle, while using a 125 kW fast charger charges from 15 to 80% in 41 minutes. With an 11 kW charger, a full charge takes just under 8 hours.

The E-Transit Custom is available in two lengths and two roof heights. This provides a cargo volume of between 5.8 and 9 cubic meters. Depending on the configuration, the van has a payload capacity of up to 1,100 kg and can tow up to 2.5 tonnes.

The plug-in hybrid Transit Custom combines a 2.5-liter gasoline engine that operates on the Atkinson cycle and an electric motor that draws energy from a battery with a useful capacity of 11.8 kWh that offers an electric range of 57 kilometers. The system produces 224 horsepower.

The Transit Custom diesel is offered with the 2.0 liter diesel engine available in 4 different power versions: 110, 136, 150 and 170 hp. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic gearbox, with optional all-wheel drive.

All versions of the new Transit Custom will be manufactured in Turkey at the Ford Otosan factory in Kocaeli.
