DODGE CHARGER KING DAYTONA: UM PASSO A MAIS PARA A DESPEDIDA

Thermal-propelled Dodge Charger 'King Daytona': The Last of the Mohicans

Less and less to go for the final goodbye of the Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger. The brand has decided that the future of its two muscle cars is electric (which will be a trauma for many people), but it has decided to say goodbye to its two icons in the way they deserve, with special series among which is the Dodge Charger King Daytona.

This edition is the fifth of the 7 'Last Call' that will be produced and of which the Shakedown for the Challenger, the SuperBee for the Charger and the Scat Pack Swinger, available for both models, have already been presented.

The new incorporation is based on the Charger Hellcat Redeye Widebody, which gives it a very aggressive and sporty starting point. Additionally, according to the brand's CEO, Tim Kuniskis, it was designed to honor an icon, William 'Big Willie' Robinson.

He was a speed racing driver who became famous on the West Coast racing aboard a 1969 Dodge Charger that was christened the 'King Daytona', which this edition is named after and which appears on the rear of the model.

The leitmotiv of this version is the orange color, the 'Go Mango' that appears both on the bodywork and on the brake calipers (which appear behind 20-inch wheels), and on the contrast stitching distributed throughout the cabin: dashboard, steering wheel, seats, center console, doors, etc.

In addition, it took the opportunity to improve its mechanics, with its supercharged V8 engine reaching 807 hp, which means an increase of 10 hp over the normal Hellcat Redeye Widebody.

The brand has announced that 300 copies of the Dodge Charger King Daytona will be produced, but its price has not been revealed. In addition, it informs that you will not have to wait long to know the sixth 'Last Call', as it will be shown on September 21, and that the seventh and definitive will see the light in a scenario like SEMA Show.
