Design studio Porsche Design presented the PDT40 wireless headphones. The novelty received an active noise reduction system and standard Qi wireless charging. The novelty is positioned as the best option for sports or outdoor use, and also has protection against moisture and dust according to IP55.
Porsche Design Studio is owned by the famous premium car manufacturer. The studio's portfolio includes numerous products related to consumer electronics, including various types of headphones, speakers and monitors. The brand is also known for sunglasses and wristwatches.
The PDT40 headphones received an additional feature that allows to "isolate" the wearer from the environment - it is argued that the elastic headphones complement the software and hardware noise reduction system. In addition to Qi wireless charging, USB Type-C power is also available. Bluetooth 5.2 is responsible for pairing with a smartphone and other electronics. At the same time, the headphones are compatible with the voice assistant used in the smartphone by default.
Porsche Design PDT40 headphones received 10mm dynamic drivers and touch controls. The novelty is capable of running up to 6 hours, and a case with a built-in battery extends the battery life by up to 21 hours. The kit comes with a charging cable and three pairs of different-sized silicone tips so that the headphones perfectly fit the characteristics of the user's body.
The Porsche Design PDT40 is now on sale in select markets including the US and Europe. The model costs $210 and is positioned as a budget version of the "flagship" PDT60.
