HONDA
During that four-year period, the ATC underwent two major upgrades, bringing with it Pro-Link suspension, fuel adjustments, and a six-speed transmission.
Unfortunately, all these updates have failed to improve the safety record of off-road motorcycles. In 1986, a large number of accident reports and litigation forced the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to strike a deal with manufacturers to stop the production and sale of three-wheeled motorcycles, including the famous Honda ATC. 250R
However, CPSC was not happy with dealers simply pulling units out of showrooms. The agency forced the sellers to remove the engines from ATC's remaining stock and cut their frames in half. These efforts further discouraged the pirated 250Rs from hitting the trails. Nearly 40 years later, it appears the CPSC's long-running ban has failed to stop popular YouTube channel Donut Media from getting its hands on one of Honda's infamous three-wheelers.
If you've ever ridden one, you know about the stability and steering issues. Honda's special design only exacerbates these shortcomings. Jeremiah and Nolan at Donut fully demonstrate these shortcomings through a series of tests.
