APARECE À VENDA NO REINO UNIDO UM DOS 71 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF G60 LIMITED FABRICADOS

Absolute rarity: exclusive 1989 Golf G60 Limited up for auction

At the end of the 1980s, the Volkswagen Golf GTI underwent successive evolutions, until it reached very high powers. It all started with the 8-valve GTI with 110 hp, followed by the 16-valve 138 hp. Then there was an 8-valve supercharged version, which reached 160 hp and which was installed in the Corrado and Golf G60. However, the most special of all was the Volkswagen Golf G60 Limited, of which only 71 copies were made. Now, one of them comes up for sale.

The British specialist 4 Star Classics has put up for sale a Volkswagen Golf G60 Limited manufactured by Volkswagen Motorsport, specifically unit number 16, with 108,900 kilometers. The car is in very good condition, both paint and interior, and has received some technical improvements, such as the supercharger and new components, such as the stainless steel exhaust system.

It is undoubtedly a very special and exclusive car, as only 71 units were manufactured. It is equipped with a twin-cam, 16-valve, supercharged engine that delivers 207 horsepower and 252 Nm of torque, practically double that of a regular Golf GTI Mk2. In addition, it has a Syncro all-wheel drive system to improve grip, which allowed it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just over 6 seconds, a spectacular record for the time.

Aesthetically, the Golf G60 Limited exhibited a very conventional appearance, which no one would have thought that under its hood such powerful mechanics were hidden. It was distinguished from the front with just two round headlights instead of four, a blue grille frame instead of red, 15-inch BBS RM wheels and a pair of body insignia.

The British house specializing in the sale of classic cars offers this very special example of the Golf for 79,995 pounds sterling, something like 505,500 reais at the current exchange rate.
