Czech police add the BMW 540i xDrive Touring to its fleet

Czech police recently took possession of ten copies of the BMW 540i xDrive Touring and expect to receive many more in the coming years.

In total, police in the Czech Republic will seize at least 70 vehicles from the German car manufacturer. Half of the ten 540i xDrive Touring models, which were recently handed over to the police, will be used for road surveillance and will be decorated in a striking police livery. The remaining five vehicles will be unmarked and used as interceptors and for high-speed pursuits.

Several modifications were made to the 540i xDrive Touring to transform it into a police car. For example, it comes with all the necessary lights, sirens and camera systems.

The BMW 540i xDrive Touring is powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine with mild hybrid technology that delivers 335 hp at 5,500 rpm and 449 Nm of torque at 1,500 rpm. This engine is supplied with an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.
