Prep builds her own BMW

Waiting for the new BMW M2, which is about to arrive, the most eager preparers choose to create their own. AC Schnitzer was one of them and chose to base itself on the sportier version of the model within its conventional lineup, the BMW M240i.

This BMW version is already a model with a marked sporting character as soon as it leaves the factory. Under the hood hides a 6-cylinder engine that develops 374 hp of power and 500 Nm of maximum torque, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system (it is the only one in the line that is not rear-wheel drive) . With this configuration it is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.

However, for AC Schnitzer it was not enough, so they modified the engine to achieve a final power of 420 hp and a maximum torque of 600 Nm. Unfortunately, no data was provided on its performance, but it seems quite possible that it will drop from 4 seconds when accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h.

In addition to the mechanical part, the preparer also took the opportunity to add a series of exterior novelties.

The aerodynamic kit includes a spoiler for the roof and two smaller ones for the upper part of the trunk, it has 19 and 20 inch wheels, it has a spacing kit that separates the wheels by 15 mm, the specific suspension lowers the height of the between 20 and 25 mm and a stainless steel exhaust system with carbon fiber tips is available.

The BMW M240i by AC Schnitzer will be available at the end of the European summer, which means a margin of more than half a year until the official M2 is available. Its price was not revealed.
