EXCLUSIVE: Subdisiary of the Swedish brand lifted the veil of secrecy over its next electric sports car, the Polestar 5
The car is currently in prototype form and was first shown to the public during the Goodwood Festival of Speed2022 which started today, 1993 and are very popular.
Polestar 5 is a four-door Gran Turism car based on the Precept concept car presented in 2020. The new electric car received an aluminum chassis, with which it was possible to improve dynamic performance and handling.
The electric vehicle is designed to use an 800-volt electrical architecture. The energy platform includes two electric motors that are mounted on the front and rear axles. The total power reaches 650 kW or 884 horsepower. Torque – 900 Nm. The acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h, unfortunately, has not yet been disclosed.
“Polestar 5 is a defining project for the company. Its progressive design and cutting-edge engineering define the future of Polestar,” says CEO Thomas Ingenlath.
The Polestar 5 model is scheduled to enter the commercial market in 2024, following the launch of the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 electric crossovers.
