EXCLUSIVE: KIA has confirmed that the series version of the EV9 electric concept will hit the market next year

This model is part of the Korean company's plan to launch two new electric models by 2027 and start selling electric-only models in Europe by 2035.

So far, not much is known about the mechanics of the EV9 (pictured above), except that the vehicle will use the same E-GMP platform as the EV6 and the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

These cars have a battery capacity of 73kWh and a range of around 480km, so you can expect a slightly more modest result from the larger EV9. If the known driving options are transferred, then acceleration to 100 km/h will take about 6 seconds.

The concept has a lot of futuristic design elements (doors that open vertically, folding roof racks, solar panels on the tailgate opening), but admittedly not all of them will be kept in the serial version. In addition, the concept cabin is equipped with a screen with a diagonal of 27 inches and, instead of traditional mirrors, cameras are used.

What will likely be retained is the three-row seating configuration.
