Ayrton Senna: 28 years later

Ayrton Senna, one of the most famous Formula 1 drivers in Brazil, died on May 1, 1994, exactly 28 years ago. The Brazilian idol, who did not consider himself like that, left at the age of 34, after an accident suffered at the Grand Prix (GP) of San Marino, in northern Italy.

The anniversary of his death pays tribute annually. This Sunday morning, March 1, the official profile of Formula 1 on Twitter published a photo of the driver and wrote: “A unique talent, idolized by millions. Forever remembered”.

McLaren's profile made several posts on the same social network and published phrases such as: "For many, the greatest racing driver that ever lived" and "A legend in and out of the car".

To this day, the trajectory of Ayrton Senna, three-time Brazilian champion, is remembered all over the world. Not only because of his achievements, which were many and great, but also because of a legacy of important reflections – others, controversial – shared by the athlete in life.

Most thoughts talk about Senna's perspectives on fear, risk, discipline, success and victory.

SEE CELEBRATED PHRASES BY SENNA:

“Fear is part of people's lives. Some people don't know how to face it, others - and I think I'm among them - learn to live with it and see it not as a negative thing, but as a feeling of self-preservation."

“Fear fascinates me.”

"Money is a curious business. Who doesn't have it, is crazy to have it; whoever has it, is full of problems because of it.”

“Winning is what matters, the rest is a consequence.”

"The second is nothing but the first of the losers."

"I don't have idols. I admire work, dedication and competence."

"If you want to be successful, you need to have total dedication, seek your ultimate limit and give your best."

"To be honest, I don't feel like the biggest Brazilian idol. I don't feel like such an important person to deserve an all-night party in Brazil."

"Women: with them, trouble, but without them, you can't live.".

"I don't know how to drive any other way that isn't risky. When I have to overtake, I'm going to overtake. Every driver has his limit. Mine is a little higher than the others."

"My biggest mistake? It's yet to happen."
