BAIC BJ60: SURGE NA CHINA UMA MISTURA DE JEEP COM LAND CRUISER

BJ60 manages to mix Toyota Land Cruiser dna and Jeep style

Once again, a Chinese manufacturer makes a copy of not one, but two famous vehicles, in a single model. In this case, we are talking about the BAIC BJ60, which, as we can see in the images, displays a Jeep-style grille, with three blades instead of seven, and takes on the physiognomy of the Toyota Land Cruiser.

This car, with a chassis of spars and crossbars (like the Land Cruiser itself), will compete in its home country against the Tank 500, from the Great Wall group. We don't know if Toyota's lawyers are already working on the plagiarism complaint, but that is not ruled out by any means.

The BJ60 is a very large vehicle, as it exceeds 5,000 mm in length (5,002 specifically) and measures 1,920 mm in width and 1,950 mm in height, in addition to a wheelbase of 2,820 mm.

The figures make it slightly longer than the Land Cruiser, although the Japanese off-roader continues to prevail in terms of wheelbase by a small margin. In BAIC's own SUV lineup, the BJ60 outperforms the BJ80, but is shorter than the BJ90 (based on the previous generation Mercedes-Benz GLS).

Interestingly, for the interior it did not take inspiration from other vehicles and draws attention to the level of technology on board. Highlights include the digital instrument panel, the multimedia system with a 12-inch screen, the premium audio system, ambient lighting, heated perforated white leather seats and the panoramic roof.

The BAIC BJ60 includes versions capable of carrying five or seven passengers. Regarding the technical specifications, it is only known that the car has a hybrid powertrain, which offers a range of 1,000 kilometers, although the homologation cycle to achieve this figure has not been revealed.

Acceleration from 0 to 100 is done in 6 seconds, and when leaving the asphalt, it adds full traction and differentials with locking (we assume the central and the rear). When based on the Land Cruiser, it is normal that it also incorporates reduced, but we cannot confirm.

There are currently no prices set for the BAIC BJ60 in China, although we are convinced it will be a cheap 4x4, at least from a western perspective.
