Light model Supra has manual transmission
Toyota has released a lighter version of the Supra model for the European market, which comes with manual transmission.
The lightweight Supra weighs almost 40 pounds less and also gets lightweight 19-inch wheels. Thanks to the 6-speed manual transmission, the Supra “lost” 21.8 kilos, and the new wheels are 1.2 kg lighter than the standard ones. Thanks to these changes, the steering has been improved and the ride quality improved.
The interior is upholstered in leather and the car received a different sound system. In addition, the possibility of electronic adjustment of the lumbar support has been removed. Overall, the Supra is 38.3 kilograms lighter compared to the 6-cylinder model that has an automatic transmission. Toyota's European division is confident that the Lightweight will be the most popular Supre model.
Toyota opted for a manual transmission version to meet high demand and customer expectations. The company also uses the hashtag “savethemanual,” which makes sense because the GR Yaris, GR Corolla, and GR86 all have manual transmissions.
Enthusiasts expect the Supra Lightweight to be a step up from the much talked about GRMN model.
The GR Supra with manual transmission will go on sale later this year. The Japanese will get the new version first, and deliveries are expected in the fall.
