ALPINE A110 SASTRUGA: UM ‘ONE-OFF’ COM INTELIGÊNCIA ARTIFICIAL

Alpine A110 gets AI aesthetics

The Alpine A110 Sastruga is the new 'one-off' of the French brand. The aesthetics of the bodywork were created using Artificial Intelligence software, in collaboration with the French art collective Obvious.

The painting recalls the unexplored territories of the world, with a clear reference to the polar continents, presenting a white color with blue spots, typical of glacial ice. The car will be shown on the 10th of April at the ‘Art Paris 2022’ fair, but here we can take a look at it in some detail.

Art collective Obvious was inspired by the history of the French car manufacturer to create this very special Alpine A110. The color palette chosen to create the specific paintwork was based on the historic shades of the manufacturer, the same ones that have written part of the trajectory not only in French motorsport, but also worldwide.

The special painting, in addition to being inspired by glacial territories, replicates the lines of an imaginary circuit, created by artificial intelligence replicating the Sastruga phenomenon, which happens when the ice consolidates, creating those particular bluish spots, visible only on some glaciers in the world and at the poles.

The imaginary circuit, created by the artistic collective Obvious with the help of modern machine learning techniques, is inspired by the curves of some of the most famous tracks in the world where the French brand has historically raced, such as Le Mans and the Paul Ricard circuit.

In this sense, at the rear, just above the striking central exhaust, you can see the mathematical formula that allowed the design of the French sports car to be created. Indecipherable for ordinary mortals, but which resulted in the aesthetic that appears in the images.

Laurent Rossi, Managing Director of Alpine, said: “Obvious has managed to capture our brand DNA to create an original and unique work of art that highlights our steadfast vision of the future. Obvious and Alpine share the same ambition: to use technological innovation to reinvent themselves and explore an ever-widening field of possibilities. Through this collaboration, we are proud to contribute to the emergence of a new way of creation and to partner with these visionary artists”.
