After it was previously announced that a new ASX (based on Renault's Captur) will hit the European market in spring 2023, Mitsubishi recently confirmed that the successor to the legendary Colt is in the works.
The new Colt (pictured above) also arrives next year (on sale from autumn) as another model that Mitsubishi is developing for the European market in collaboration with Renault. In particular, the new Colt will receive the Renault platform and technology, which here means the CMF-B platform used by the Renault Clio, among other things.
So we expect Mitsubishi's 5-door B hatchback segment, which will be offered with Renault's hybrid drive system (likely as the Clio e-Tech Hybrid with 1.6 liter petrol and an electric motor with a combined power of 140 hp. ).
Russian website Kolesa.ru has already made several renderings based on the previously published teaser image, which shows the most likely appearance of the new Colt.
Judging by the renderings, the new Colt will be visually different from the Clio in the modified front and rear, meaning Mitsubishi's distinctive design vocabulary will apply here too.
Finally, it should be noted that the new Colt will be produced at the Renault plant in Bursa (Turkey).
