VW Virtus gets update for the Indian market

The Volkswagen Virtus will start production in India in a few days and, due to this important launch in the Asian country, the German brand has presented the model update. Derived from the Volkswagen Polo, it now presents a more current and dynamic image.

The new delivery of the Volkswagen Virtus should convince those users that the Jetta eludes them for the price and the Polo is a little small for them. The update focuses especially on the front, adding the changes already seen on the Nivus and Polo 2021.

Inside, the most interesting thing is the arrival of new climate control controls, more attractive instrumentation and a new design steering wheel. The multimedia systems have also been improved to have the latest in connectivity, notably Apple CarPlay wirelessly.

The safety equipment now includes elements such as six airbags, hill start assistant, signal reader, blind spot monitor, rear camera, parking sensors, stability control, automatic LED headlights, rain sensor, etc.

In India, the new Volkswagen Virtus will be launched in the next few days with a 1.0 TSI engine with 115 hp as a lit step, or with the 1.5 TSI EVO block with 150 hp. Both are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, although optionally they can be fitted with a 6-speed Tiptronic gearbox (1.0 TSI) and DSG (1.5 TSI).

The Volkswagen Virtus will be marketed in India and also in other world markets such as South Africa, Mexico and Sri Lanka. Until now Virtus was produced exclusively in Brazil for Latin American markets.
