TESLA

Company capitalization has again exceeded $1 trillion

At an event to mark the start of deliveries of Model Y crossovers from a company near Berlin, the Tesla boss not only handed car keys to the first 30 buyers, but also expressed his emotions with an incendiary dance. The emergence of a new place to assemble Tesla's electric vehicles gave investors optimism, the company's shares soared 7.91% and allowed the capitalization to once again surpass the $1 trillion mark.

For the company's shares, which have fallen 17.15% since the start of the year, this is a very good sign, especially given the constant discussion about the difficulties electric vehicle makers face amid rising raw material prices. . The design capacity of the German company Tesla implies the annual production of 500 thousand electric vehicles, but in principle the volumes will be much more modest. So, in the next few weeks, the company is expected to produce 2,000 cars, and the mark of 1,000 electric vehicles produced weekly will be surpassed in about a month and a half. By the end of this year, 5,000 vehicles will be produced weekly at this location.

The company's staff will also expand proportionately. If it now exceeds 3,000 people, after reaching full capacity and launching a traction battery production company in the neighborhood, the team will increase to 12,000 employees. It is known that at first the Model Y crossovers mounted here will be equipped with 2170-type battery cells, although their body already receives a battery integrated into the power frame. Later, 2170-type elements will give way to the more progressive 4680, although at the Texas plant they are used initially in local Model Y production. In essence, Tesla will wait until it gets its 4680 batteries in Europe.

The other day, Elon Musk also hinted at what activities will be included in the third phase of implementing the “master plan” for Tesla’s development. The first priority for her, according to the general company, is to grow the business to “extreme sizes”. He previously stated that by 2030 the company aims to master the production of 20 million electric vehicles annually. At an event in Germany this week, he stressed that proportionally increasing the production of traction batteries will only be possible if widely used materials are used.
