Gen2 is an electrified off-roader with a range of over 1,200 kilometers

The company plans to create two Gen2 models. One will be a flashy, street-legal vehicle that features a refined interior, while the other is more suited to the desert. Both prototypes are expected to be unveiled during the fourth quarter of the year.

Details about the propulsion system and the company that will supply it are unclear. However, the first generation of the model, which is called MK1, is based on the chassis and engine of a Volkswagen Beetle, a project that defined what the new Gen2 will look like. The company is backed by Pario Ventures, a venture capital fund based in London, New York and Brussels that has also invested in other electric car manufacturers such as Rivian, Sono Motors and Atlis Motor Vehicles, among others.

“We are incredibly excited to release Gen2. We make a fantastic team and look forward to building the vehicle,” said Arrow Rawding, CEO of Overland-E. “We are also very interested in selling B2B (business-to-business) vehicles to entities such as the military, but also participating in motorsports, especially in the United States, where I recognize that off-road racing is an important sport.”

For now details are very limited, but the Overland-E Gen2 looks like some sort of doorless buggy with a one-piece body. The front features LED headlights and a short overhang. There are wheels with off-road tires, large wheel arches, auxiliary lights on the roof, longitudinal bars and supports for fuel tanks on the B pillars. to improve your off-road performance.

Obviously the Gen2 is an all-electric vehicle that, according to the manufacturer, will be able to drive more than 1,200 kilometers on a single charge. “Having access to advanced EV technology is a very important element in ensuring that Overland-E becomes a sustainable zero-emissions business and we assume that traditional fossil fuels will be banned from 2030 onwards,” adds Rawding.
