Company has 65,000 orders for Hummer EV electrified pickup

In December of last year, General Motors Corporation began shipping Hummer EV electric pickup trucks, but was only able to deliver a single copy of the car to the customer, which was sold early at auction for $2.5 million at a recommended price of $2.5 million. $110,295. At the time, the company had 60,000 orders, but now its number has increased by another five thousand copies. GM promises to increase production of these electric vehicles.

Indeed, as GMC Vice President Duncan Aldred admitted in an interview with CNBC, order volume for EVs from the Hummer EV family has been higher than the manufacturer's expectations, but production volumes are increasing faster than than expected. To date, the company has 65,000 orders for Hummer EV pickups and crossovers, but the latest body style won't be delivered until next year, so in the early stages, orders were predominantly for pickups. Those wanting to get in line now will have to wait until 2024 for deliveries, GM said.

The percentage of conversion from pre-orders to actual orders is quite high – in the case of the Hummer EV pickup, it reaches 95%. Both this year and next year, GM expects to launch more electric vehicles than it originally expected. This is the flagship pickup in the range, its cost after the appearance of more affordable trim levels ranges from $80 to $110k, but so far only the most expensive version is being produced. Even the production volume limited by industry standards allows the model to remain profitable due to the high added value. Electric vehicles in this family use the GM Ultium platform. The company will be able to publish more detailed statistics on the number of cars shipped later this week, following the publication of the quarterly report.
