New generation of the Ford Mondeo ST-Line offers more sportiness combined with a lot of technology

The new generation of the Ford Mondeo was presented by surprise about a month ago. The long-awaited renovation of the Ford sedan has entered the scene far from western borders. A model that was designed especially for the Chinese market, it debuted design, technology and mechanics. In short, we are facing an important generational change that will mark the future of a commercial name that is the living history of the American brand.

The new Mondeo now adopts a more dynamic and sporty look thanks to the entry of the ST-Line trim level. The new Ford Mondeo ST-Line follows the trail marked by the standard model, but is quickly recognizable due to all the distinctive traits it displays both on its exterior and interior. This finish is destined to play a leading role in the line.

Just take a quick look at the images to discover the most characteristic design elements of the new Mondeo ST-Line. These are details that focus on the front and rear of the vehicle. On the front, it features a grille with a distinctive pattern and several elements finished in black to create a contrast with the color of the body.

At the rear, next to the bumper, there is a diffuser that combines with the moldings that simulate being the exhaust outlets. Furthermore, over the trunk lid there is a subtle but obvious spoiler, whose edge is painted black. Particular emphasis should also be placed on the body's Bitone finish and 19-inch light-alloy wheels.

As for the interior of the new Mondeo ST-Line, we are quickly enveloped by a digital, connected and sporty environment. Among the main features of the ST-Line finish are the sporty front seats, whose upholstery features red accents. The technological equipment is evident with a huge 43-inch widescreen display. It is made up of a digital instrument panel and a touchscreen to manage the infotainment system.

Under the hood there are no surprises. There is a 2.0-litre EcoBoost 4-cylinder petrol engine that develops a power of 238 hp. A block that appears coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Regarding its arrival on the market, everything is ready for the landing of the new Mondeo in Chinese dealerships. The series production process takes place in China itself, through the joint venture that Ford maintains with Changan, one of its partners in the Asian giant.
