“Given the current situation and difficulties in purchasing raw materials, Yokohama Rubber has decided to phase out production at its Russian passenger tire factory, Yokohama RPZ LLC,” says the Japanese company's website.
“Our top priority is to fulfill our obligations to all stakeholders, including group employees and their families, customers, sales agents and business partners, and we are closely monitoring the development of the situation,” the notice reads.
The head of the Lipetsk region, Igor Artamonov, wrote on his Telegram channel that several departments are ready to help the company adapt to new logistical conditions.
“We are ready to provide assistance through the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Ministry of Transport to expedite the material delivery process,” said the head of the region.
He also said that the company intends to keep the staff of the Lipetsk company. “Management has assured that the company has an interest in all employees continuing to work at the factory, said Artamonov.
Yokohama RPZ LLC was founded in 2008 in the Gryazinsky district of Lipetsk region and was the first company to manufacture Yokohama car tires in Russia. Investments amounted to 26.7 billion rubles.
