SUV Duster gets new turbo engine, more agile and economical

Renault do Brasil presents the new Renault Duster 2023 line. The model, which has a history of more than 10 years of success in the Brazilian market, arrives with a great novelty: the expansion of the range of versions with the adoption of the new turbo engine. TCe (Turbo Control Efficiency) 1.3 flex, combined with the efficient CVT XTRONIC 8-speed automatic transmission in the Iconic version. With this, the brand's best-selling SUV in the country becomes even more dynamic and agile, thanks to the new power of 170 hp and the highest torque in the segment of 270 Nm.

With the new engine, the Duster 2023 guarantees great pickups and faster overtaking in different driving scenarios. The SUV equipped with the TCe 1.3 flex turbo engine accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds, reaching a top speed of 190 km/h. Retakes are up to 36% faster, allowing for dynamic and efficient driving.

The SUV also brings, as novelties for the 2023 line, the adoption of a front frame, mirrors and roof bars with a black finish, in the Intense and Iconic versions. In addition, the Iconic, 1.6 and turbo TCe 1.3 flex versions now have wheel spreaders and seats with premium coating as standard. Keeping the innovative features that were applied in its second generation, the Duster has a design with muscular lines, which convey grandeur and robustness, a striking front, headlights with the characteristic light signature of the Renault range and LED daytime running lights in a 'C' shape. The more aerodynamic design and its high waistline are also highlights of the SUV.

Internally, the Duster highlights its perceived quality and ergonomics, with a modern and functional instrument panel and an 8.0-inch Easy Link multimedia center, as well as easy-to-use controls and quality coatings.

Duster still retains its key features of robustness and comfort to ensure satisfaction in any urban or off-road terrain. With the largest entry (30°) and exit (34°5') angles in the segment and the highest ground clearance (237 mm), the Duster takes on obstacles with ease. In addition, the vehicle maintains the largest trunk in the category, with 475 liters, and offers ample interior space.

The vehicle is now offered in five versions: Zen, Zen CVT XTRONIC, Intense CVT XTRONIC, Iconic CVT XTRONIC - all with the efficient 1.6 SCe engine - and the new Iconic CVT XTRONIC, with the TCe 1.3 flex turbo engine.

The highest torque in the category...The new TCe 1.3 flex turbo engine of the Duster Iconic was developed with the know-how of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance in partnership with Daimler, having as characteristics a high torque at low rotations and low consumption. of fuel. This translates into agile behavior.

The efficient TCe 1.3 flex turbo thruster also features technologies that Renault developed on the Formula 1 tracks, a category in which the brand has already won 12 world titles, such as central direct injection with 250 bar pressure, turbocharger with electronic wastegate valve and dual control. of variable valves with electric actuators, which guarantee an optimized combustion with more performance and less fuel consumption.

The TCe 1.3 flex turbo is a global engine, which equips high-end models in several countries. Produced in Spain, this engine has run more than 40 thousand hours of tests in its development, more than 300 thousand km of validation in extreme conditions and has already had more than 1.2 million units produced in 2020. All the development of the flex version was in charge from the team of engineers at RTA (Renault Tecnologia Américas), which is located at the Ayrton Senna Complex, in São José dos Pinhais (PR).
