RALLY DAKAR 2022
Joan Barreda beats Jordi Arcarons, Danilo Petrucci wins and Lorenzo Santolino climbs
The Spanish Joan Barreda(image above) has been shown, coming out from behind to complete its second stage in Dakar 2022 and the 28th in total in the prueba, as it surpasses the 27th of Jordi Arcarons. Despite the fact that it is attributable to its success before ayer, the review of previous stages indicated that it actually amounted to 27, and that the historical book of Dakar attributed it for error of victory in the 7th stage of 2015, which in reality fue del malogrado portuguese Paulo Gonçalves.
Returning to the present, if Barreda ayer expects to benefit from the cut of the stage to minimize the damages of having to open the track, wasting 'solo' for ten minutes with the winner of the stage, Joaquim Rodrigues; today it has taken advantage of the widest special of this 2022 (465 of the 707 total between Al Qaysumah and Riyadh to mark differences and win a triumph with 4:37 over Chilean Pablo Quintanilla and 6:53 with respect to Italian rookie Danilo Petrucci, with him español Lorenzo Santolino fifth at 8:56.The Brittany Sam Sunderland expands his renta en el leaderato.
From the beginning of this stage, it was clear that it was going to be one of these typical specials in recent years, where opening the track is too penalized and stepping out at the back allows you to cut major drawbacks. So, for WP1 Toby Price, Joaquim Rodrigues had already been asked, shortly afterwards they joined Mason Klein and Skyler Howes, while in the second half of the stage, Ricky Brabec brought Ricky Brabec to form a group of six until the finish line.
At the same time, and with more than twenty huellas in front, the pilots started to fly: Danilo Petrucci(image below) demonstrated that he has speed to dream of any thing in the future and set the best time in the three first waypoints, from where Joan Barreda sets second. Behind them are located Pablo Quintanilla and Lorenzo Santolino.
Thus, three moments copared attention to the goal: the arrival of the first six, the intermediate group with referents in the general as the British Sam Sunderland and the Austrian Matthias Walkner -who one day more remained in a discreet background for Follow the trail of 'Bang Bang' and the company to decide the stage.
Joan Barreda crossed the finish line after having released all those who were accompanied by the path to complete the stage. Minutes after he had his rivals for the same thing: Pablo Quintanilla crashed second at 4:37, with Danilo Petrucci finally third at 6:53. Cuarto was the Portuguese Rui Gonçalves, after overcoming Lorenzo Santolino, fifth in the finish by Argentinean Luciano Benavides, with Sam Sunderland seventh and Matthias Walkner octavo. The top ten was closed by the American Ricky Brabec and the Slovakian Stefan Svitko.
