The Chinese sports bike with the Ducati Streetfighter DNA

A few weeks ago you had the opportunity to meet the Moxiao 500RR, a Chinese sports car whose look is reminiscent of the Ducati 959, but the performance is not as worthy of a motorcycle from the Italian brand.

However, the “tribute” from the Chinese to the Italians did not stop there: they presented the new MX 500 and MX 650. The first is a naked version of the Moxiao 500 RR, with a very similar appearance to the Ducati Streetfighter, while the second is a tribute to the Panigale V4.

Like the Moxiao 500RR, the Chinese naked uses a 471 cm³ parallel twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that delivers a modest 47 hp of power and accelerates from 0 to 100 in less than 7 seconds, reaching a top speed of 160 km/h and declared consumption. of 22 km/l.

The new Moxiao MX 650 incorporates a 650 cm³ two-cylinder engine that delivers 60 hp of maximum power. The plant is produced by the Chinese brand itself but, according to international sources, it is a copy of the Kawasaki ER-6N propeller.

We know that the Chinese industry is capable of delivering good products, such as those of brands such as Benda, CFMoto and Benelli, which is Italian but currently belongs to the Qianjiang group.

But as long as brands like Moxiao continue to do this kind of practice, it will take some time to end the “nothing is created, everything is copied” stigma when motorcycles and other Chinese goods are on the agenda.
