OPEL ASTRA SPORTS TOURER: PRÁTICO, ELEGANTE, DINÂMICO E ESPAÇOSO

Astra Sports Tourer 2022 shows that it has a lot of personality

After the world premiere, in September, of the new generation Opel Astra in hatch version, the German brand this week unveiled the long-awaited station wagon version, the new Astra Sports Tourer, a version that, in addition to gasoline and diesel thermal engines, will be available with two levels of plug-in hybrid electric propulsion, thus becoming the German brand's first electrified station wagon. The new Astra Sports Tourer follows Opel's successful tradition in compact vans, which began nearly 60 years ago with the Kadett Caravan, the first model in this class launched by a German brand.

The new Astra Sports Tourer will be available with high-efficiency gasoline and diesel engines. In these versions, the power varies between 110 and 130 hp, and can go up to 225 hp in plug-in hybrid versions. Both petrol and diesel engines are equipped as standard with a 6-speed manual transmission, and an 8-speed automatic transmission (electrified in plug-in hybrid versions) is available as an option for the most powerful engines.

“The new Astra Sports Tourer ushers in a new era in terms of versatility. It's an electrified, digitized model designed to surprise,” says Opel CEO Uwe Hochgeschurtz. “This is how we combine our long tradition of compact vans with the latest innovations such as plug-in hybrid technology. Attractive and seductive, the Astra Sports Tourer will certainly attract new customers to Opel.”

At 4,642 mm long, 1,860 mm wide, 1,480 mm high and a loading plane just 600 mm high, the versatile new Astra Sports Tourer further reinforces Opel's leading status in the station wagon segment. , also revealing the brand's traditional competence in terms of design efficiency. However, the overall length is 60 mm shorter than the previous model thanks to the particularly short front overhang, despite the considerably longer wheelbase (2,732 mm, ie 70 mm longer) which is also 57 mm longer than on the new five-door Astra.

Versatile trunk: ‘Intelli-Space’ mobile floor...With the rear seat backrests in their normal position, the trunk of the new Astra Sports Tourer offers 608 liters of useful stowage space and a maximum of 1,634 liters with the rear seat backrests folded down, providing ample space to accommodate, for example , a carrier box for a medium-sized dog. In addition to the asymmetric folding (40:20:40) of the rear seat backrests, which is standard on all versions, the floor is completely flat. Despite the lithium-ion battery housed under the floor, the plug-in hybrid versions offer payload volumes in excess of 548 and 1574 liters, respectively.

The load volume of versions with combustion engine is optimized through the ‘Intelli-Space’ system. This mobile loading floor can be easily adjusted, with just one hand, in high or low positions, and positioned at a 45-degree angle. In addition, for even greater convenience, the retractable trunk cover can be removed and accommodated when the mobile floor is in a raised or lower position, something that is not possible on competitive models, which only allow the cover to be stored when the floor is in place. it is in the elevated position.

The new Astra Sports Tourer with ‘Intelli-Space’ can also ease the task of changing a wheel in the event of a puncture. Tire repair and first aid kits are housed in practical under-floor compartments, accessible from the trunk or rear seats. This means that both can be achieved without having to remove the entire load from the trunk. Naturally, the rear cover opens and closes automatically, with electric control, with just a movement of the foot under the rear bumper.

Outstanding Station Wagon: New Astra Sports Tourer with Opel Vizor and Pure Panel...Like its five-door sibling, the sleek new Astra Sports Tourer is a true design statement and the first Opel station wagon to embody the brand's bold and pure design philosophy. The brand's new face, Opel Vizor, follows the Opel Compass where the vertical and horizontal axes intersect - the pronounced crease on the hood and the wing-shaped graphics of the daytime running lights - with the Opel logo in the center. Extending across the entire front, the Opel Vizor also seamlessly integrates technologies such as adaptive Intelli-Lux LED Pixel headlamps and the front camera.

At the rear, the Opel Compass concept is echoed by the centrally mounted Blitz, the upper brake light placed in an upright position, and the especially slim taillights. The latter are identical to the five-door hatchback version, further reinforcing the Astra family ties.

The interior also registers enormous advances. The all-digital Pure Panel Human-Machine Interface (IMH) offers customers a genuine and intuitive experience. The system is operated via a large touchscreen with intuitive movements that are used on smartphones. The main settings, such as climate control, can also be selected directly using a reduced number of keys. There is also no need to use cables, as the new generation of information and multimedia connectivity systems can be wirelessly connected to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems via compatible smartphones.

A new lighting paradigm: exclusive Intelli-Lux LED Pixel headlamps...The new Astra Sports Tourer also asserts itself in terms of the technologies it introduces to the segment of compact vans. The most recent version of the Intelli-Lux LED Pixel LED array headlamps stands out from the extensive list. The system, comprising 168 LED elements, is directly inherited from the top-of-the-line Opel Insignia and Grandland models, being a leading technology in the compact and medium segments. Excellent seat comfort is a tradition at Opel. Developed by the manufacturer itself, the front seats of the new Astra Sports Tourer are certified by the German agency of specialists in ergonomics AGR. The ultra-ergonomic seats are the best in the entire compact model segment, featuring a wide range of optional adjustments, from electric seat tilt adjustment to electro-pneumatic lumbar support. Upholstered in leather as an option, these seats also offer ventilation and driver massage and heating in the front and rear seats.
