O DESENVOLVIMENTO DO NOVO HONDA CIVIC TYPE R SEGUE NO CIRCUITO DE SUZUKA

CIVIC TYPE R CONTINUES DEVELOPMENT IN THE SUZUKA CIRCUIT

The development process for the new generation Honda Civic Type R goes ahead. Honda is working full steam ahead on the expected generational change of one of the icons and references in the sports compact segment. A model that can currently be considered a 'dinosaur' that survives in times where electrification is already a protagonist.

Taking as its starting point the eleventh generation Honda Civic, the Japanese manufacturer will give life to a bolide capable of facing any layout. Although there is still considerable time left for it to land at dealerships, Honda again offers the possibility of bringing us closer to a model that is destined to deal in a category that is becoming elitist at an accelerating pace.

Honda released through its official profiles on social networks some interesting images of the new Civic Type R. Now, as you might expect, the example shown is densely camouflaged. In fact, with the camouflage feature where red is the main color. In addition to making these new images public, the location of the 'headquarters' of the team working on the project was made clear.

The new generation Civic Type R is taking on the Suzuka Circuit in Japan. A track that is being used as a base of operations to complete an important phase of development. The objective is none other than to achieve the best chassis adjustment. Remembering that relatively recently this model was spotted facing the Nürburgring track, in Germany. Some of the most relevant circuits on the international scene are being decisive in development.

Under the hood will be a 4-cylinder 2.0 liter VTEC Turbo petrol engine that will be refined to improve its power to approximately 330 hp. And most importantly, without resorting to electrification. In this way, the new Civic Type R will remain faithful to its origins. This engine will be associated with a 6-speed manual transmission and a front-wheel drive system.

The launch is scheduled for the next year of 2022. However, the new Civic Type R will land in dealerships as a 2023 model, which leaves plenty of time to see it circulate on the roads.
