SUZUKI S-CROSS 2022: RENOVAÇÃO TOTAL PARA O SUV ELETRIFICADO

The Suzuki S-Cross 2022 takes a step forward in the Japanese brand's small SUV strategy on a global level

Its new generation was developed - in the words of the brand itself - based on the concepts of strength, sophistication and versatility, as a complement to the current Vitara offer.

The design evolution was profound and less risky than the previous model. The new S-Cross bets on squarer strokes, a larger grille and overall a more rough-and-tumble character thanks to sturdier wheel arches and more showy underside protectors on both bumpers.

The Suzuki S-Cross 2022 measures the same 4.3 meters in length as the previous model and also respects a wheelbase of 2.6 meters, which suggests that there was not a new platform, but a refurbishment of its original architecture.

For Europe, which will be the first region to receive it, it will have a 1.4 liter turbo engine with a 48 V MHEV system, capable of generating a total of 130 hp and 240 Nm, with an option for front or all-wheel drive AllGrip with off-road programs. For Latin America it is very likely to keep the engines of the previous generation: a 1.6 liter aspirated block with 120 hp and a 1.4 liter turbo with 140 hp, both with 6-speed automatic transmission.

Regarding the interior, several elements of the cabin were taken from the previous model, such as the steering wheel, some buttons and climate controls. The instrument panel, however, now bets on a more up-to-date design and a new 9.0-inch touchscreen, compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Along the line, the Suzuki S-Cross 2022 will be able to offer different equipment options, from smart key, LED headlights, automatic climate control and panoramic roof, to a new range of driving assistance, including autonomous emergency braking , traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning and cruise control with stop & go function. Production of this model has already started at the Suzuki factory in Hungary. Its launch in Europe will take place in December this year, to continue its expansion to Latin America, Oceania and Asia in the coming months.
