ACURA INTEGRA PROTOTYPE: O REGRESSO DE UMA ICÔNICA DENOMINAÇÃO COMERCIAL

Acura Integra: The return of a historic trade name is just around the corner

Honda, as part of an ambitious strategic plan to boost its premium brand, decided to bring the Acura Integra name back to life. A name that will be used to design a new generation compact sports car. A model that we can glimpse thanks to the prototype that was presented by the Japanese manufacturer: the new Acura Integra Prototype.

The introduction of the new Acura Integra Prototype officially means the confirmation of the return of an iconic nameplate to the Acura line. A sports car that will be available to start landing at the brand's North American dealerships in the short term.

The design process was carried out in Japan. The Integra Prototype features a bold exterior styling that closely matches the look of the soon-to-market production vehicle. It features a sloping roofline and a coupe-influenced rear.

The new generation of Integra also has other characteristic features, such as the frameless Diamond Pentagon grille, which combines very well with optical groups with LED technology that draw a striking luminous signature. In the side view are muscular wheel arches and 19-inch light alloy wheels with a matte finish, which show the Brembo brakes.

At the rear, there are horizontal and slightly enveloping lights that contrast with a subtle but obvious spoiler. The exhaust outlets are perfectly integrated and visible. And of course, the body paint job pays homage to the Phoenix Yellow color that was used in the iconic Integra Type R. The Indy Yellow Pearl yellow used combines with high-gloss Berlina Black accents.

As for the mechanics, under the hood of the new Integra Prototype is a 1.5 liter VTEC petrol engine coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission. It will be the first Integra with a factory turbocharger. It will also be equipped with a limited slip differential. Regarding its arrival on the market, the production version of the new Acura Integra will enter the scene in the first half of next year 2022. The launch of this model will mean a new milestone for the manufacturer, as it will be the first time that the Integra will be manufactured in the United States. Serial production will take place at the facility located in Marysville, Ohio.

All new Acura models will be manufactured in Ohio. There, the new Integra will share installations with the TLX. The brand also informs that, when it reaches the market, it will have a sales price of approximately 30,000 dollars.
