RENAULT

RENAULT SUBSTITUIRÁ AS VERSÕES RS PELA LINHA ALPINE LINE E A MUDANÇA ESTREARÁ EM UM ELÉTRICO

The French brand has short-term plans for its RS sports versions, as it recently announced that it will replace that name with Alpine Line, debuting the change to the Mégane E-Tech Electric.

According to the information, the launch of the Alpine Line version(image above) is scheduled for 2023, being offered even with an improved performance for the mentioned electric model, thanks to the integration of a higher capacity battery with 87 kWh.

To be honest, it's a little strange that Renault is debuting this change in a zero-emissions model, possibly as part of its strategy and to demonstrate the importance of its electric models from now on, however, in reality the RS surname was very specific to its gasoline vehicles.

Giving full prominence to the Alpine brand, including on the Renault Sport, will bring very evident consequences, starting with the already mentioned that is to disappear with the RS 'label' and making room for a new family of sports models that, in short, will mark a before and one later within the company.

Of course, with all this, we can get an idea of the news that is coming at the brand and part of its plans from now on, which are evidently focused on giving priority to electrified models, including, including them in the world of sports as will also make Volkswagen with its GTX versions in the ID line.

Returning to the Renault Mégane E-Tech Electric Alpine Line, it is said that the version will have an important increase in power, possibly around 240 hp. In addition to the modifications to the powertrain, it will be equipped with distinctive elements of the version that will also adopt the rest of Alpine Line products.
