Rossi is approaching retirement and thanks fans around the world for their support
Valentino Rossi took advantage of the last race of his MotoGP career in Italy to thank fans for the support he has received over these more than 20 years in the sport. The #46 exalted the hometown fans, but reinforced that they always felt supported around the world.
At 42, Rossi will say goodbye to MotoGP at the end of the 2021 season. The Italian wants to continue racing, but now on four wheels and at a level different from that required by the world championship.
Speaking to the press before the start of track activities for the Feito in Italy and Emilia-Romagna GP, Rossi thanked the fans for their affection, but stressed that this is not yet goodbye, as the Algarve and Valencia Community GPs remain. .
"It's a long story. There are more than 400 races and a long career. I just have to say thank you to everyone as I have had incredible support from all over the world. Especially in Italy, but more or less around the world,” said Rossi. “I always gave my best and we enjoyed it a lot together, as it is a long career, with many great races”, he followed.
“Let's see how it goes on Sunday. After Misano, we will have two more races. It's always a sad moment when you get to the end, but anyway, it was good, we enjoyed it together”, he concluded.
