Bagnaia wide in front at Misano

Francesco Bagnaia took pole position for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, the penultimate stage of MotoGP. The Ducati driver, vice-leader of the championship, was dominant in the classification held this Saturday (23) at the Misano circuit, in Italy, advancing in Q1 and scoring 1min33s045 in the final phase, taking the position of honor.

Second place went to Jack Miller, who finished 0s025 behind the time taken by Bagnaia, his teammate at Ducati. Luca Marini, riding an Avintia Ducati, was third and will complete the first row. Pol Espargaró, riding a Honda, secured fourth place on the grid, followed by Miguel Oliveira, from KTM, and Franco Morbidelli, from Yamaha.

Marc Márquez, who made a save in Q2, and who crashed at the end of training, moved into seventh with Honda, followed by Iker Lecuona, a Spaniard who advanced from Q1 and who races with a Tech3 KTM. Danilo Petrucci, Lecuona's companion, part ninth. The top-12 will also feature Johann Zarco, from Pramac Ducati, Aleix Espargaró, from Aprilia, and Jorge Martín, from Pramac. The one who failed to get into Q2 was Fabio Quartararo. The championship leader, Yamaha rider, had a big battle in Q1 with Bagnaia, Lecuona and Álex Márquez, but ended up only in fifth position, and will start from 15th position this Sunday. Valentino Rossi, in his last race as a MotoGP rider in Italy, will start from 23rd place on an SRT Yamaha.

The Emilia Romagna MotoGP Grand Prix will be held this Sunday (24), from 9 am, and will be broadcast live on Fox Sports channels and the Star+ app.
