Civic Si 2022 arrives renewed and with 1.5L VTEC turbo engine with 200hp
The Honda Civic Si debuts generation and there are many new features that land on the line. From a new exterior design to a wide range of technological equipment. All this accompanied by a major chassis upgrade and a pertinently tuned mechanical part.
Regarding the differences between the Si version and a conventional Honda Civic, just take a quick look at the images to find out what its most characteristic features are. Taking the standard model as a starting point, a body kit was designed comprising a new front bumper, a modified rear bumper, a front spoiler and a rear wing finished in gloss black.
The exterior mirror housings are also finished in gloss black. All these components improve the vehicle's aerodynamics. In addition, at the rear, the new exhaust system with two perfectly integrated outlets draws attention. It is also important to highlight that it has front and rear optical groups with LED technology.
As standard, it has 18-inch ten-spoke alloy wheels in a matte black specific for the Si version. Likewise, an orange Blazing Orange color is available for the bodywork, which is exclusive to this version.
As for the interior of the new Civic Si, we are surrounded by an environment that breathes sportiness. The first thing that catches your eye is the sporty front seats with integrated headrests and references to the version in question. Other equally interesting details are the sport pedals and the red stitching of the upholstery.
The instrument panel has a 7.0-inch information screen that shows data relevant to driving. Furthermore, at the top of the center console there is a 9.0-inch touchscreen that is essential for managing the infotainment system. It is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Among the equipment is also included a premium Bose sound equipment.
Design and equipment aside, now is the time to take a look under the hood. The new Civic Si is powered by a 4-cylinder 1.5 liter VTEC Turbo petrol engine that develops an output of 203 hp (200 hp) and 260 Nm of maximum torque. Therefore, it is less powerful than the previous model. However, Honda points out that the power and torque delivery has been improved. To that we must add an improved chassis adjustment.
The mentioned engine is mated to a new 6-speed manual transmission and a front-wheel drive system. The lever is new and stands out for its rigidity. In addition, the gearshift strokes are shorter, which favors a sportier driving. And if that wasn't enough, this transmission has the rev adjustment system. A technology used by the Honda Civic Type-R.
Honda points out that the new Civic Si benefits from a body that improves torsional stiffness by 8%. The chassis adjustment is decisive. The Japanese manufacturer has also earmarked resources to optimize the suspension. The dampers have been adjusted and the stabilizer bars are thicker at the front and rear to minimize body sway.
Regarding its commercialization, the launch of the new Civic Si will happen imminently. Honda highlighted that it will be available through its dealer network in the United States later this year. As the time of your disembarkation approaches, the rest of the details, such as your equipment and all your prices, will be revealed.
