VINFAST

A VIETNAMITE LUXURY SUV WITH CORVETTE SOUL

The Vinfast company has been selling its vehicles with relative success in Vietnam for just over a year, the only market where they are present for now. After the presentation of the LUX A2.0 sedan, LUX SA2.0 SUV and the little Fadil (derived from the Opel Karl), now it's Vinfast President's turn.
As with the LUX SA2.0 crossover, the new President takes the BMW X5 platform of the previous generation as a starting point, although here with important modifications. The most notable is the new wheelbase lengthened up to 3.13 meters (more than an X7) to achieve a very large cabin.

For those who may be thinking wrong, it must be said that Vinfast has the chassis manufacturing rights of previous generations of the BMW 5 Series and X5, in addition to having an agreement with the German company for the supply of engines. Other deals include General Motors, the American giant that has just sold a test circuit in Australia to them, specifically from Holden.
While Vinfast plans to expand in Asia, it also does not want to forget the wealthy people in Vietnam who are growing steadily thanks to a booming economy. The new President will have to convince them for their complete equipment, care for details and powerful engine.

The brand worked hard on the interior to ensure that its presentation does not resemble the BMW models from which it derives. Considering that the President will be very expensive, it is logical to think that users will seek a certain distinction. The result looks good, with a well-placed 12.3-inch touchscreen and lots of detail.

For the President, the company trusted its General Motors partners by betting on a 6.2 V8 engine with 460 hp of power and 624 Nm of maximum torque, the same as that found under the hood of the Corvette. Accompanied by full traction and an automatic transmission with 8 speeds, being able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.8 seconds and pull over at 300 km / h of maximum speed.
Vinfast will put the new President 6.2 V8 8AT 4x4 on sale in the last quarter of this year. The first 100 units will be offered with a personalized aesthetic from the equivalent of 870,000 reais(local currency) at the current exchange rate. The following should cost no less than 1,053,000 reais(local currency). Although it is expensive, in Vietnam a BMW X7 xDrive40i starts at the equivalent of 1,272,000 reais(local currency) and the X5 sDrive40i touches 1,100,000 reais with less endowment and less power.
