"made in china": Europe will receive model 3 from China

Elon Musk had already said that Europe would only receive the new Model Y when it started to be produced in Germany, in the new Gigafactory Berlin. What was not known is that difficulties in meeting the demand for Model 3 in the Old Continent would also become a problem. With incentives for electric vehicles, sales continue to increase and the factory that traditionally supplies European customers, Fremont, Calif., Has no more hands on to meet demand in the North American and Canadian markets.
Gigafactory Shanghai, which produces Model 3 - which will be joined by Model Y from November -, has already reached a pace of 200,000 / year in June, and is expected to continue to rise to 300,000 at the end of 2020, which exceeds the needs of the local market, being able to start exports to neighboring countries. However, given the lack of Model 3 for delivery in Europe, Tesla decided to export its most popular model from Shanghai, contrary to what it had predicted before. The Performance and Long Range versions of the Model 3 for the Chinese market should also be manufactured in Fremont, but they have long been produced in Shanghai.
This decision by Elon Musk, similar to the one that BMW also took with the iX3 (produce in China to sell in Europe) is delicate, since Chinese articles do not have the best image in our market - which, however, is far affect equipment such as the iPhone, for example, produced in that Eastern country and exported worldwide.
