LUCID AIR

Brand stands in front of Tesla Model S

Lucid Motors posted a video demonstrating the superiority of its luxury electric Lucid Air sedan with a Dream Edition finish over a Tesla Model S electric car in a quarter mile (402 m) dash. The electric car Lucid Motors covered that distance in just 9.9 seconds. According to the manufacturer, this result makes the Lucid Air the fastest consumer electric sedan in the world.
Unfortunately, the video does not indicate which version of the Tesla Model S the Lucid Motors electric car was competing with. According to the manufacturer, the Lucid Air Dream Edition can reach speeds from 0 to 60 mph (97 km / h) in 2.5 seconds. In addition, its top speed is 322 km / h.

"The compact, powerful and ultra-efficient Lucid electric motors, combined with an integrated gearbox and differential and a high voltage silicon carbide MOSFET inverter, are a work of art. Each of these blocks contains up to 650 horsepower and rotates at a speed of 20,000 rpm. However, it weighs just 74 kilos. It is compact enough to fit in a standard handbag, ”says Lucid Motors on its official website.

The Lucid Air Dream Edition electric has two of these electric units on board with a total capacity of 1080 hp, which allows it to develop almost 4000 Nm of torque. All versions of the electric vehicle have long range, according to the company.
Specifically for Dream Edition variants, the manufacturer claims 517 miles (832 kilometers) of mileage on a single battery charge. By the way, the Lucid Air battery is capable of charging very quickly. The power reserve of up to 483 kilometers is replenished in just 20 minutes.
The history of the Lucid Air Dream Edition puts it on a par with the fastest cars with ICE. For example, the same Porsche 918 Spyder. However, the electric car was not as fast as, say, the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang Cobra Jet, which traveled the same quarter mile in 8.5 seconds.
