“The L200 Triton Sport 2021 line arrives without a doubt as an excellent option within the Brazilian pickup truck market. The model combines all the legacy present in the L200's more than 40 years of history and also brings a completely updated design, more technology, better efficiency in consumption, greater comfort on board and an excellent 4x4 traction system. With all this, we hope that the truck will be one of the most sold in Brazil ”, says the CEO of Mitsubishi Motors in the country, Robert Rittscher.

Renovated design
The new L200 Triton Sport 2021 can undoubtedly be considered the most beautiful pick-up available on the Brazilian market today. It brings Mitsubishi's new design concept called Advanced Dynamic Shield, a visual identity that is already present in models such as the Pajero Sport and Eclipse Cross, providing an even more robust and sporty appearance, without leaving aside functionality.
On the outside, the front of the pick-up has been completely redesigned. The grille is in aluminum color, following the chrome bumper frames in the shape of a boomerang. The hood has pronounced creases and is higher, which gives the feeling of a bigger and more powerless pick-up, but does not impair driving even in urban conditions, with heavier traffic or even on narrow trails.
The new optical set features tapered headlights and a much more modern look. It has evolved and is more efficient to provide greater visibility and safety to the driver. The HPE and HPE-S versions are equipped with fog lights that occupy a generous niche, for an even greater lighting capacity.
The top-of-the-line HPE-S, on the other hand, features bi-LED headlights with integrated DRL, height adjustment and washer, perfect for night trips or heavy off-road situations with lots of mud and dust.

The side lines of the pick-up guarantee better aerodynamic performance. In the HPE and HPE-S versions, the mirrors have electric folding with arrow light, chrome cover and defroster. The door handles are chromed and there are side steps for easy access.
The model was also designed according to the J-Line concept, which seeks to optimize and maximize the internal and cargo space as much as possible, while reducing the wheelbase.
The size of the body, as well as the good 3,000 mm wheelbase ensure that the pick-up has the smallest turning radius in the category, at just 5.9 meters, the smallest in the category. This feature offers the pick-up more comfort, ease of driving and agility in maneuver situations, whether in the tight streets of large cities, or in challenging obstacles in the scenarios of off-road trails.

The changes of the new L200 Triton Sport 2021 are also noticeable at the rear, which now has a new and more functional bumper, equipped with parking sensors and bucket access step.
The taillights have been completely redesigned and are LED in the HPE-S version. To bring even more safety, the brake light has been integrated into the lid, an intelligent solution to improve visibility even if the load carried is high.
The pick-up also has larger wheels compared to the previous model, now with 18 inches, equipped as standard with 265/60 tires. The top-of-the-line HPE-S version features wheels in exclusive design and finish for an even more premium look.

Excellent option for work
If the technology present in agribusiness has evolved a lot in recent years, the same applies to the Mitsubishi L200 Triton line. The model's more than 40 years of history have established the pick-up as a synonym of robustness and durability.
With all this heritage and history of evolution, the new L200 Triton Sport 2021 was designed to offer the maximum in capacity and versatility, without giving up technology and comfort on board.
The bucket has a load capacity of 1,055 kg which, together with the towing capacity of up to 2.3 tonnes, offer the new L200 Triton Sport 2021 with immense versatility. It is also coated as standard with the X-Liner protector, which in addition to waterproofing, protects the bucket from scratches and corrosion, even in severe use.
For the trailer, moreover, the pick-up offers the Stability Assistant System with Trailers (TSA) as standard. The system assists in handling and acts in a way to minimize the risks of loss of control that cause the tipping over or the 'L' position, all of this automatically, without the need for driver interference.

Real 4x4, with even more technology
Lovers of off-road practice have in the new L200 Triton Sport 2021 a vehicle with impeccable performance for all types of terrain. The pick-up combines the comfort and handling of a luxury SUV with the 4x4 capacity that has been present in the model's DNA since its first version, presented more than 40 years ago.
The suspension system is independent at the front and with a rigid axle at the rear. Extremely well calibrated, it guarantees good performance and helps to face spines, holes and ditches with ease, in addition to offering excellent body movement control, which ensures total comfort to occupants.
The Super Select 4WD-II (SS4-II) system offers the driver four different modes of operation including reduced, ideal for traffic on different types of terrain. Using the selector on the center console, he can easily choose the best fit, depending on the location and characteristics of the floor:
-2H - Used for roads and public roads, it favors fuel economy with smooth performance.
-4H - Ideal for roads and uneven floors, including asphalt, saws and in rain conditions. The system automatically distributes the traction between the front and rear axles, through the central differential.
-4HLc - Ideal for rough terrain with low grip surfaces.
-4LLc - Ideal for steep climbs or descents, rocks, sand and mud.
The new L200 Triton Sport 2021 has the exclusive Off-Road Mode, a modern and technological feature that leaves the pick-up even more prepared to face the most varied terrains. There are four options that guarantee an excellent performance on different types of floors: Gravel, Mud / Snow, Sand and Stone.
Each mode has a specific configuration and everyone is able to optimize traction for each type of floor, automatically changing the engine's power delivery and adjusting the transmission, brake system and stability and traction controls.
Another novelty is the Ramp Descent Control (HDC). Through it, the vehicle is able to descend the steepest slopes, even with low grip, without the driver having to step on the brake or accelerator, just controlling the speed between 2 and 20 km / h using the buttons on the steering wheel.

The ability to face all types of terrain is also in the generous entry, exit and brake over angles, with 32º, 23º and 25º respectively, in addition to the wide crossing capacity in flooded stretches, which can be up to 600 mm deep.
For situations where one or more wheels are destroyed, the pick-up has the Active Traction Control System (ATC), which monitors the rotation of the wheels and acts by slowing down the wheel that has less grip, sending the traction to the wheel better supported on the ground. Additionally, it controls the motor torque to avoid slipping.
The traction system also has the Rear Differential Lock System, which allows the two wheels on the rear axle to receive traction in the same way, which is very useful in a jam situation or even when one of the wheels is not in contact with the ground in off-road conditions.

Technology and comfort for everyday life
Technology is one of the highlights of the new L200 Triton Sport 2021. The model has been equipped with a series of systems that not only make the pick-up one of the most capable to ride on any type of terrain, but also guarantee even more comfort and security for its occupants.
The entertainment system placed on the central panel is from the JBL brand, one of the references in sound quality and connectivity worldwide. With a 7.0 inch touchscreen, multimedia can be fully integrated with the best smartphones on the market using Apple CarPlay and Android Auto technologies.

Audio system JBL

For him, more than receiving and making calls by voice command and checking the signal and battery levels directly on the vehicle screen, the driver can also mirror a series of applications such as Waze, Google Maps, Spotify and, with that, always keep your eyes on the road for as long as possible.
The driver's instrument panel also has a more modern look and now has a color display that displays numerous information from the on-board computer.
The HPE and HPE-S versions have a twilight sensor, a system that ensures automatic lighting of the headlights, as well as a rain sensor, parking sensors and reverse camera. The HPE-S is still equipped with a front parking sensor.
For total driver comfort, the pick-up also comes standard with the Smart Keyless door opening and engine ignition system. Through it, the driver does not need to take his key out of his pocket or purse. Approximately, the presence of the key is identified by the vehicle and, with that, the driver simply presses a button on the handle to access the interior of the vehicle. It can also start or shut down the model by simply tapping the ‘start-stop’ button located near the steering wheel.

The air conditioning system is even more efficient due to the air vents placed on the roof, which allow the entire cabin to be cooled more quickly, by capturing the refrigerated air from the first row and transferring to the back row. Rear seat passengers can adjust the ventilation intensity up to four levels using a remote located on the roof.
In the HPE and HPE-S versions, the temperature selector is digital with two zones, which allows the driver and front passenger to choose different temperatures for the passenger compartment.
They also feature high-quality interior trim and leather-covered seats with electrical adjustments for the driver.

Engine and transmission
The new L200 Triton Sport brings as a novelty a new 6-speed automatic transmission system and, in the HPE and HPE-S versions, it also has options for sequential changes by means of paddle shifts on the steering wheel.
Its gear ratio was very well calibrated to use all the maximum torque of the engine to lower revs and all the comfort with the minimum of vibrations and noise in the cabin at cruising speed.
The engine that equips all versions is the 2.4 Turbodiesel 4-cylinder with light aluminum structure, which helps to optimize fuel consumption. It features MIVEC variable valve technology and variable geometry turbine, which makes it capable of developing 190 hp of power and an impressive 430 Nm torque, enough force for enviable performance both on and off the road.

Security for all occupants
If the L200 Triton Sport 2021 line has the technology to make the pick-up even more brave in the off-road, in addition to offering the comfort of a true luxury SUV, this same technology also raises the model's safety levels considerably. . There are countless systems that assist the driver in controlling the vehicle and help in the comfort and integrity of all its occupants.
As standard, the pick-up features the ABS braking system with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), which ensures ample control and rapid response in situations of sudden braking, since they act in conjunction with the stability control (ASC).
The structure of the cab, body and chassis assembly of the new L200 Triton Sport 2021 was designed with the Programmed Deformation Rise concept, which, in a collision, reduces the impact on people and, at the same time, avoids the deformation of the vehicle as much as possible. structure where they are, lessening the potential consequences of the impact.
All versions of the pick-up have sensors spread throughout the parts, which monitor the model's behavior several times per second and, if a possible skid is detected in a curve situation, these sensors activate the active stability control system (ASC ) that automatically apply the brakes and decelerate the vehicle in order to keep it on the correct path.

The model also features the Brake Override System (BOS), which constantly monitors the brake and accelerator signals. If the brake is applied together with the accelerator and you configure an emergency situation, the system gradually reduces the engine speed until the vehicle comes to a complete and controlled stop.
The Ramp Start Assistant (HSA) system holds the pick-up stopped for approximately 3 seconds when starting on a ramp, peace of mind when the car is fully loaded.
The entry versions have two front airbags while the HPE and HPE-S versions have seven air bags distributed between the front, side and the driver's knee.
The top-of-the-line HPE-S brings the Blind Spot Monitoring System (BSW), which detects vehicles in the driver's blind spot and emits audible and visual alerts in the external rear-view mirror, in addition to the Lane Change Alert System (LDW ), which warns the driver that the pick-up is going from one lane to another, if he has not activated the arrows.
For maximum visibility of the road, the HPE-S version features the Auto High Beam (AHB) system, which switches the high beam down automatically when it perceives a vehicle coming in the opposite direction, avoiding the glare of the other driver.
The integrated intelligence on board is also present in the Autonomous Braking System (FCM), which equips the HPE-S version. It acts through sensors and cameras placed on the front of the vehicle, monitors the current speed of the pick-up and is able to identify whether an obstacle is approaching very quickly, which puts the vehicle on a collision course. Once this situation has been identified, the ABS brakes of the new L200 Triton Sport 2021 are automatically activated if there is no driver action, which helps to avoid or minimize the impacts of a collision.
The HPE-S version also features UMS technology, an involuntary acceleration prevention system that acts through the front or rear and reduces the engine's torque in order to avoid a collision against objects that are up to four meters away , if the driver is wrong and press the accelerator instead of the brakes, for example.
The technology on board the L200 Triton Sport HPE-S does not act to prevent only frontal collisions. The model is also equipped with the Rear Traffic Alert System (RCTA) which, immediately after the driver shifts into reverse, starts a scan for possible objects or any other obstacle behind the pick-up. For this, the system uses sensors placed on the ends of the rear bumper. If any vehicle starts to approach the pick-up, an audible and visual signal will be emitted inside the model.

Conclusion
With a lot of embedded technology, a very renewed design, a new automatic transmission system that offers less vibrations and noise inside the vehicle, in addition to a state-of-the-art 4x4 traction system, the new L200 Triton Sport 2021 combines the comfort of a luxury SUV with the robustness and versatility that only a Mitsubishi pick-up is capable of offering.
For all these reasons, it shows itself as one of the best options within its segment, capable of reaching different public profiles.
