The newest king of the road in Brazil
The extra-heavy Mercedes-Benz Actros 2651 6x4 of the current line, launched in late 2015, reaffirms its success in the country and again stands out as a sales champion. In July, with 518 registered units, the model was the best-selling truck in the Brazilian market considering all makes and models.
“We are very pleased with the sales results of the Actros 2651, a truck that has been gaining approval from customers since it hit the market almost five years ago. This model innovated in the extra-heavy segment, bringing what transporters and drivers asked us for: better operating cost, technology, robustness and comfort ”, says Roberto Leoncini, vice president of Sales and Marketing Trucks and Buses at Mercedes-Benz do Brasil . "This sales champion and the entire current Actros line thus open the way for the New Actros, whose first deliveries also started in July".
“Thanks to the excellent commercial performance of the Actros 2651, as well as the entire Actros family and also the Axor line, we led sales of extra heavy goods in July. “In that month, 1,742 trucks of the brand were registered, which means an increase of 39% over the 1,256 units of June. With that, we won the segment leadership this month, with more than 32% market share. In fact, July had the highest sales volume of extra-heavy people in the last 74 months ”, informs Roberto Leoncini.
Agribusiness sectors, such as grain and sugar cane transport, continue to drive sales of extra heavy trucks in 2020, in addition to mining and transport of cellulose, fuels, chemicals and gas, food, beverages, pharmaceuticals and others.
General leadership in the truck market in 2020
“The success in sales of extra heavy goods contributes significantly to our result in the Brazilian truck market, of which we are leaders with a 32% share in the accumulated result from January to July”, says Leoncini. "In total, there were almost 15 thousand trucks registered".
The brand's success is also due to the complete solution it offers customers with a wide portfolio of Parts and Services, which includes three lines of spare parts (genuine, remanufactured and Alliance), Maintenance Plans, Fleetboard fleet management system , attractive financing from Banco Mercedes-Benz, plans from the Mercedes-Benz Consortium and deals with used cars from SelecTrucks.
This package of solutions is made available to customers through the Mercedes-Benz Dealer Network, present in all states, with more than 280 service points on the main transport and logistics routes in the country.
Mercedes-Benz also offers several virtual contact channels, such as the 24 Hours Relationship Center by phone, e-mail and chat, in addition to social media. More recently, the Company innovated with WhatsApp support for Service24h customers and with the first Virtual Showroom in Brazil for sales of commercial vehicles, parts and services.
