Electrified Chinese model promises better value for the European market

The new Aiways U5 is already running on Corsican roads as part of a pilot program and will soon be doing so on the German market as well, as from September they will be available at dealerships in that country. It is a Chinese vehicle that is 100% electric and has a favorable cost-benefit ratio.
In the European market the Aiways U5 is equipped with an electric motor that generates 190 hp and 315 Nm of maximum torque, appearing coupled to an automatic transmission, and with a simple traction system to the front axle. The lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 63 kWh that gives it a range of 410 km.



According to the data provided by the brand, this model supports a fast load of up to 90 kW. For example, it can go from 30 to 80% in 27 minutes, which will allow you to gain about 200 km in less than half an hour. The initial line will be available in just three colors: electric blue, white and aubergine.



The initial offer consists of two levels of finish: STD and Premium. All have LED headlights, automatic climate control, alloy wheels, multimedia system with touch screen, digital instrumentation, parking sensors, rain sensor, electrical package, USB, Bluetooth, photosensitive interior mirror, lane change alert, etc.



Also available on Aiways U5 are the blind spot alert, traffic sign reader, leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, electric and thermal seats, pre-collision warning, automatic city braking, 360º camera, integrated browser, device charger induction furniture, etc.
Prices in Germany were set at 37,990 euros for the STD version and 40,990 euros for the Premium. These rates do not include discounts or aids, as the access version may request the maximum government incentive (9,480 euros), placing the entry price at an attractive 28,510 euros.
