Elon Musk is very happy to go to work driving without touching the steering wheel

Tesla CEO and founder Elon Musk said recently that he sees no fundamental obstacles to the emergence of the brand's electric vehicles in the ability to dispense with human intervention in most driving situations by the end of this year. From personal experience, he is already convinced that automation is able to control his car on the daily route to and from work.
Tesla experts have already installed the so-called alpha version of the software for autonomous control of an electric car on Elon Musk's personal vehicle, and he was able to see its capabilities first hand. Progress in this area is far greater than people can imagine, as Musk emotionally declared. Along the entire route from home to work and back, the Tesla founder already has the opportunity to not interfere with car control, even if road works or other dynamic changes are taking place in some areas. This adds confidence to Elon Musk in Tesla's ability to offer full autonomy by the end of this year.
Obviously, there will be more legal difficulties on this path than technical ones. Automation already offers safer driving than humans. In the future, the fight will be tenths, hundredths and thousandths of percent of the reliability coefficient. The main psychological problem for many people, according to Musk, will be accepting the idea that artificial intelligence is superior to them.
Tesla did not hide its ambition to increase revenue by selling software for its cars. Finally, according to Musk, the potential of this market in terms of each electric vehicle is very advantageous financially. The company's financial director added that there are hopes in models with subscription services and activation of software for certain options for a surcharge. With a remote “upgrade”, it will be possible to increase the range on a single charge, improve the dynamic characteristics of an electric vehicle or even activate the heated rear seats.
